KAI'S Gallery 凱奧藝術

KAI's Gallery launched the debut exhibition in Taiwan of Polish contemporary artist, Darius Rafaello, on last Saturday, February 17. Darius Rafaello, born in Poland, graduated from the fine art school in France, currently lives in Taipei, Taiwan.

Darius has been deeply fascinated by light, rhythm, and subtle human emotions since childhood. When he was young, he traveled around the world to explore, and experienced various folk cultures and customs. This immersive experience shaped his unique artistic sensibility.

Darius's work is dominated by the clever interplay of light and shadow, which imbues the image with energy and emotional depth. The characters he creates, with a focus on capturing moments of introspection or contemplation, evoke a universality that allows his work to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries and resonate with audiences of all backgrounds.

In this exhibition, he sets his sights on exploring many current environmental issues and reflecting on the meaning of human existence, such as: extreme climate, global warming, resource competition, gender identity, self-doubt, etc. Though heavy at first glance, he also expressed his confidence for the younger generation and his belief in the brighter side of human nature. As he was inspired by Pablo Picasso’s quote: “Art cleanses the soul of the dust collected by daily life.” This moving perspective embodies his belief in the transformative power of art: Art It makes people transcend the world and enhances human spirituality.
