Liu Jia-Chi was born in 1979 and graduated from the Graduate Institute of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University. She is currently teaching at Hsinchu Experimental High School. Liu Jia-Chi is widely known for her watercolor paintings, but she has recently decided to challenge herself with different mediums and make a breakthrough. Since last year, she has ventured into oil painting and mixed media, bringing fresh perspectives to the public. However, she continues to uphold her original creative concept of “ruins,” blending it with new elements to spark innovation. In this year’s Taichung Art Fair, she re-examines the relationship between ruins and graffiti, creating a new visual impression.
Liu Jia-Chi has won numerous national awards for her watercolor works, including three National Art Exhibition Gold Medals, the first prize at the Dadu Art Exhibition, and the Nanying Award. 2014 National Art Exhibition – Gold Medal in Watercolor Category 2014 Nanying Art Exhibition – Nanying Award in Western Media Category 2017 National Art Exhibition – Gold Medal in Watercolor Category 2019 Dadu Art Exhibition – First Prize in Watercolor Category 2020 National Art Exhibition – Gold Medal in Watercolor Category
